…in the Reading Room, Main Rd. Betley.

Come along and look at a range of Betley Local History Society’s old documents, letters, censuses, maps and albums.

  • Who lived at Betley Court?

  • Who owned the fields and farms aroundabouts?

  • What did Heighley Castle look like…and The Medicine House?

  • Who was the school’s Headmaster in 1939?

  • Did Betley have evacuees during the wars….and where from?

  • What do we know about The Black Horse … and The Swan…or Betley Post Office?

BLHS members will be there to help guide you to some of the answers.

Browsing will be free - older children are also welcome.

The usual Reading Room refreshments will be available too, so please call in and explore some local history with us.
